Luz Ramil accepts the 2006 Masaru "Pundy" Yokouchi
LAE’ULA Award
on behalf of her husband Antonio V. Ramil

Antonio V. Ramil exemplifies Lae’ula. He has given his time treasury and talent to Maui’s community in many ways. He was key to not only the vision but the materialization of organizations such as Binhi At Ani and the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce and programs such as the United Filipino Council of Hawaii “Progress Awards.” He actively volunteers his time and resources to programs and services aimed at improving the social, health and economic welfare of others.
He is the author and publisher of “Kalai’aina, County of Maui” (1984), the first comprehensive political and social history of the County of Maui which has been touted by many in the community as an extremely valuable documentation of history.
Antonio V. Ramil, very deservingly, has been selected by his peers as the recipient of this year’s Masaru “Pundy” Yokouchi Lae’ula Award.
