Wailuku
Properties registered with the State and National Registers of Historic Places

Wailuku Civic Center Historic District --- State in 1985, National in 1986.
The site includes Circuit Courthouse, County Office Building, Police Station, Wailuku Library, and District Courthouse

Wailuku Civic Center Historic District is singled out for special recognition as an historic corridor/district.

A source of civic pride for the community, the entire district represents tangible links to the events that have shaped the island community. The district dates back into pre-contact times, to an era when Wailuku was the center of power for Maui.

The sites are places where decisions governing community lives were made and laws upheld, and where records of history have been stored.
