Procedures for Research Requests and Use of Materials

At the office you may browse through the finding aids. The fee for doing research is $5, unless you are a member of MHS (join!). If you cannot come in person, call or e-mail and please be as specific about your request as possible. Staff research services are available for $60 per hour.

When we have gathered materials pertinent to your topic, we will telephone you to make an appointment to view the materials.

A pencil, paper and gloves will be provided for your use.  Computers and recorders are allowed for research with staff permission.  Personal scanning devices are not allowed.  There is a fee per photocopy of $.50.  There are additional fees for photograph reproduction.

Before you leave, please make sure that everything used is present and in good order.  The staff will check all materials used against the Log of Materials Requested.
