On Friday, September 7, 2007 in the Maui County Council Chambers, the Maui Historical Society received a proclamation for 50 years of serving the community, as proposed by Councilmember Michael P. Victorino. 

All councilmembers individually congratulated the society, showing their support and stressing the importance of keeping Maui's history alive.
